Hedrick wins marathon final in Tempe

This final of the Phoenix Open had everything, not forgetting the 120 min of pure grueling rallies that both players wanting to win badly the 5th tournament of the Life Time Squash Grand Prix Tour

The first game lasted nearly and hour with 80 to 100 shot rallies making it hard to play winners on a hot and bouncy court. Hedrick seem to be the more patience player and won the first game 11/9.

The second game was a Hitchcock with every rally played to the full limit. This game had it all, lets strokes, blocking, arguments with the ref, but at the end Hedrick came through with a clear stroke at 10/9 to win the second game 11/9.

The third both players came out of the blocks and eventually Buhari was feeling the Aussies hard and tight pace to take a comfortable lead of 8-5 before closing the deal at 11/ 7 to win his first Phoenix Open.

This is the fifth new winner on Life Time Grand Prix Tour and the last event of the year will be next month in Boca Raton Florida.

Andre Maur Life Time Grand Prix Tour Director wanted to say a special thank you to the Jackson Family who where the Title sponsor and for hosting all the players and looking forward to seeing everyone back next year.

Hedrick outlasts Aslam in marathon semi

No 1 seed Hedrick beat Pakistan Aslan in a thrilling 5 setter whereby Aslan had to retire in the 5th at 7-1 due to cramps. It was amazing that he could still walk after yesterdays marathons match against Khan.

After being 2 nil down 5/11, 5/11 he came back to win. the next two 11/9, 11/9. After playinhng 100 min fell to the ground and called it quits and unable to continue.

His opponent will be qualifier Bukhari who beat another qualifier Sachvie in three. First game was 12/10 which lasted 40 minutes but the last 2 games went fairly quick. 11/3,  11/5.
