Khan Powers To Pakistan Prize

Top seed Aamir Atlas Khan confirmed his status as Pakistan's number one squash player by defeating the number two Farhan Mehboob in straight games in the final of the PSF-CAA Pakistan International Circuit No2.

The 19-year-old from Peshawar was in control from the outset, beating his 21-year-old cousin 11-6, 11-6, 11-9 in 33 minutes.

It was Atlas Khan's first appearance in a Tour event on home soil since November when the world No22 again beat Mehboob in the final of the Pakistan Open, and the triumph marks the fifth PSA Tour title of Khan's career - all of which have been won in Pakistan.

Top-Seeded Cousins To Contest
Pakistan International Final

The two top seeds Aamir Atlas Khan and Farhan Mehboob - both nephews of the sport's legendary Jansher Khan - will contest the all-Pakistani final of the PSF-CAA Pakistan International Circuit No2 after swift straight games victories in the semi-finals at the Mushaf Squash Complex in the Pakistan capital Islamabad.

Favourite Aamir Atlas Khan, the world No22 from Peshawar, despatched fellow countryman Aqib Hanif 11-6, 11-5, 11-6 in just 22 minutes to reach the eighth Tour final of his career.

Second seed Farhan Mehboob - once ranked just two places behind his cousin in the top 20, but now languishing just inside the top 50 - faced his younger brother Waqar Mehboob for the first time on the professional Tour.

But the senior member of the family was too strong for Waqar, beating the 18-year-old 11-9, 11-8, 11-2 in 24 minutes.

Left-hander Farhan, winner of the Jena Real Estate Championship in Kuwait earlier this month, will be contesting his seventh PSA final - and looking forward to his first Tour meeting with his cousin since the pair contested the Pakistan Open final in November 2008.

Mehboobs To Battle For Final Place
In Pakistan International

After two brothers fought it out in the top quarter-final in the PSF-CAA Pakistan International Circuit No2 in the Pakistan capital Islamabad, two further siblings will do battle in tomorrow's semi-finals of the  at the Mushaf Squash Complex.

Top seed Aamir Atlas Khan, the 19-year-old world No22 from Peshawar, needed 40 minutes to quash his 16-year-old brother Danish Atlas Khan, the No6 seed, 11-8, 9-11, 12-10, 2-11, 11-9.

Atlas Khan senior will now face Aqib Hanif for a place in the final after the seventh seed despatched wildcard Waqas Mehboob 11-8, 9-11, 11-5, 11-2.

There was better success for Waqas's two older brothers Waqar Mehboob and Farhan Mehboob who took their anticipated places in the last four, albeit in contrasting circumstances.

Second seed Farhan, aged 21, cruised to an 11-7, 11-9, 11-9 victory in just 23 minutes over experienced opponent Mansoor Zaman, the fifth seed and a former world No11.

But 18-year-old Waqar had to recover from two games down before beating eighth seed Nasir Iqbal 9-11, 9-11, 13-11, 11-8, 11-5 in 65 minutes.
