Home win for Declan
It was an all-Nottingham final of the PSA $5k Mantis Open at
Nottingham SC, and it was the unseeded Declan James who
prevailed over qualifier Chris Fuller to claim his first PSA
title.
"So happy to get my first win tonight," said Declan (@declanjames1)
on Twitter, "couldn't ask for a better start to the season. Thanks

Ford takes out top seed on night of upsets
Tom Ford recorded one of his best-ever wins as he beat top
seed Jan Koukal in five games to become one of seven Englishmen
winning through to the quarter-finals at Nottingham SC, three of
them - Robbie Downer, Chris Fuller and Richie Fallows -
qualifiers.
Further upsets came as Declan James beat third seed Joel
Hinds while Fuller - one of a trio of Nottingham-based players to
progress - beat fourth seed Zahed Mohamed.
The only seed - and only non-Englishman - left is Pakistani second
seed Farhan Zaman, who beat compatriot Karamatullah Khan.

Le PSA de Nottingham s'achève
aujourd'hui pour moi, petit compte rendu :
J'ai réussi à me sortir du tableau des qualifications en m'imposant
face à l'anglais Local David Wardle sur le score de 3/1 (8/11, 11/7,
11/7, 11/4) un très gros match qui a été très dur sur le plan
physique.
Après 24h de repos je me retrouve a jouer contre un autre joueur
anglais Rorie Pennel, tête de série 1 des qualifs, j'appréhendais ce
match étant donné la fatigue du match d'hier et de son classement
mais je m'impose finalement sur le score de 3/0 (11/1, 11/8 , 11/4),
j'ai appris plus tard qu'il était atteint d'une blessure, mais cela
ne change en rien la joie de ma victoire et le fait que je me
qualifie dans le tableau principal.
Pour changer, je joue contre un autre anglais, Nathan Lake, un
ancien champion d'Europe junior, je l'avais déjà joué, il y a
longtemps et je savais qu'il y avait possibilité de faire quelque
chose, malheureusement, j'étais trop usé physiquement et mentalement
pour pouvoir rivaliser contre un joueur de ce niveau, je perd donc
3/0 (11/8, 11/8, 11/4).
Je reste tout de même content de mon parcours qui va me permettre de
monter au classement mondial.
Demain retour sur Aix en Provence, quelques jours de repos, et de
retour au entraînement, plus motivé que jamais après un début de
saison comme celui la.
Merci à tous pour vos encouragements, ce fut dur pour moi de partir
seul en Angleterre juste après être parti de chez moi, l'île de la
Réunion, cela m'a beaucoup aidé.
