Amanda Sobhy and Yathreb Adel will meet in a second consecutive WSA final in Washington after both completed straight-game wins in their semi-finals at the Chevy Chase Athletic Club.

Sobhy, the defending champion who has won two WSA tournaments in a row, extended her unbeaten run to 11 matches with a fifth consecutive win over an Egyptian opponent as she beat Kanzy El Dafrawy 11/6, 11/9, 11/9.

Adel, who also reached last week's final in Southampton as a qualifier, beat Amanda's younger sister Sabrina 11/9, 11/2, 11/6 to ensure the continuation of USA v Egypt matches in Washington.

The quarter-finals of the National Capitol Open in Washington were an exclusively USA and Egyptian affairs, with three home players up against five Egyptians.

Top seed Amanda Sobhy, aiming for a third WSA title in a row, made it through to the semis with a four game win over Nouran Gohar, while younger sister Sabrina survived a five-game encounter with newly-engaged second seed Heba El Torky to join Amanda in the last four.

Both will face further Egyptian opposition - Amanda faces Kanzy El Dafrawy, who beat the younger El Torky, Nouran, in straight games, while Sabrina comes up against qualifier Yathreb Adel, who beat USA's Olivia Blatchford in four games.

"I feel like I am more excited that beans is in the semis than she is..."
