Kanzy claims biggest win in Charlottesville

Top seed Kanzy El Defrawy played the match of the tournament in the final, hitting nearly perfect shots on every attempt and took down surprise finalist Hollie Naughton in straight games.

The Canadian attempted a comeback in the third with a few good straights drops and low cross courts, but the Egyptian held her own and took the third 11/5 to win her first 10k title.

24-Oct, Semis:
It's Kanzy & Holly in Charlottesville

It was the battle of the Egyptians in the first semi-final of the day between Kanzy El Defrawy and Amina Yousry.

El Defrawy stepped up to the plate in the first two games, taking the first two with Yousry pushing her just enough. The young Egyptian, Yousry wasn't quite done yet, a few great shots in the front that forced El Defrawy to stretch out of her comfort zone and be left chasing after the ball that was being pounded to the back corners, took the third game 11/6.

El Defrawy was not going to allow Yousry to get back into the game and quickly found herself 8-1 up in the fourth. Yousry, won three points in a row but couldn't quite continue the momentum and El Defrawy took the fourth 11/4 and advances on to the finals tomorrow at noon.

Canada's Hollie Naughton ended the prospect of an all-Egyptian final as the fifth seed beat Mayay Hany in straight games.

23-Oct, Quarters:
