International Junior Test Matches
10/11 Dec, Cardiff

Sunday 11th, Day Two:
England finish on top
Damian Burgess reports

The final matches of the weekend and the standard was great throughout, after a busy weekend the players still found enough energy to please the watching crowd at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff. England have looked on form all weekend and finished both groups on top, even hitting 101 points in the Under18 Group. Its was a tight affair in the Under20 group with only 9 points separating the three teams.

Well done to England on their table topping performances and all the other teams, players and coaches who travelled for the weekend in Cardiff, great effort and everyone is looking forward to the next event.

Wales 11 - 24 England (Under18)

ALL TO PLAY FOR IN FINAL TEST

The afternoon session at the Sport Wales National Centre saw England dominant again as they played their first matches of the day, in the Under18 match England only dropped 1 game in the entire match and in the Under20 Test it was close with England edging a still energetic Scotland 3 - 2 (19/16 on points) Some really tight games again including another 4 games for Douglas Kempsell who has played over 4 hours of match squash this weekend alone.. Some tired legs on the flight back home.

So England can wrap up the Under18 Group with a win against Wales and in the Under20 Group there are only 4 points separating England and Wales who are now in action, it could be a very nervy few hours at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff for both teams, all to play for.

England 29 - 6 Scotland (Under18)

Honours shared in Day Two starters

Day 2 of the International Youth Test matches 2011 between Wales, England and Scotland and it was Scotland who shocked the Welsh in the opening match of the day, Wales Under20 team who topped the group by 1 point overnight were well beaten by an energetic Scottish team (they had been on court from 8am warming up)

Greg Lobban and Douglas Kempsall remained unbeaten as they beat Sam Fenwick and Dave Haley respectively, Kempsall doing it the hard way coming from 2 - 0 down to win 3 - 2. There was more great squash on display at the Sport Wale National Centre in Cardiff where the Wales under 18 team put the pressure on England as they beat Scotland 26 - 9, Scotland now play England and then Wales take on England in the final match of the day. WALES WELCOME ENGLAND
AND SCOTLAND FOR TEST
Damian Burgess reports

On the weekend of the 10th and 11th December Squash Wales welcomes teams from England and Scotland for the Under 18 and Under 20 Test Matches at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff.

The three countries will place each other twice in each age group but players may be rotated in teams so that they do not play the same opponent twice.

The Test Matches are development matches and teams will include top players as well as some younger less experienced players. Every player will be looking to stake a claim for a regular spot in the National team to pit their skills against other top juniors from the other nations.

Both of the Welsh teams have a match on the Saturday morning at 10.30am against England and in the evening at 6.30pm they play Scotland.

On Sunday both Welsh teams have a match at 9.30am against Scotland and will play England for the second time at 4.30pm in the final match of the weekend.

Please come down to the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff to support the juniors taking part; some of the up and coming juniors from around Britain will be on court.

The event is FREE to watch; seating and glass back courts at the SWNC make for perfect squash viewing.
