The Island Games came to a close in Bermuda with the team event, in which the Cayman Islands team triumphed with five wins out of five to claim a fourth Gold medal.

Cayman cleans up in doubles

The Cayman Islands collected all three Doubles Gold medals, with Mark Chaloner and Marlene West picking up a pair each, as they beat Jersey pairs in all three finals with Mark Chaloner and Marlene West picking up a pair of Golds each.

Men's Doubles Final:
Chaloner & Stafford (Cay) 2-0 Hopkins & Gautier (Jer)

Women's Doubles Final:
Geils & West (Cay) 2-0 Dodd & Jensen (Jer) 

Mixed Doubles Final:
Chaloner & West (Cay) 2-0 Taylor & Taylor (Jer)

Jersey takes Double Gold

The Gold medal in the men's singles will be returning to Jersey after defending champion Nick Taylor beat second seed Mike Hopkins in the final in Bermuda.

Jersey - who won five of seven possible golds last time out - also claimed gold in the women's event, with Sarah Taylor beating the Shetland Isles' Joan Smith in the final.

According to ChannelOnlineTV: Despite two clear wins in the second and third games for Sarah, she said it was anything but an easy match. It's an improvement on her silver in the Games in the Isle of Wight.

In the men's final it was an all-Jersey affair with defending men's champion Nick Taylor facing his teammate Mike Hopkins. It was a scrappy match with a number of questionable reffing decisions, at one point Hopkins walking off the court in anger.
