Adhitya Raghavan and Neharika Balamurukan, trainees at the Indian Squash Academy in Chennai, won their maiden international squash titles in the Boys and Girls under 13 category respectively at the Iran Junior Open being held from 27th -30th June at the Engheleb Sports Complex, Tehran, Iran.

Adhitya & Neharika both southpaws from Chennai won their finals with straight game victories against their local opponents. In the semi finals they defeated higher ranked opponents from Iraq and Iran respectively.

This event is part of the Asian Squash Series, the next events where the players will participate are the Hong Kong Junior Open (10-14 Aug) & Indian Junior Open (6-10 Sept).

Srivatsan Subramaniam, Secretary General, SRFI after their victory said "This is good news for Indian squash and will certainly encourage our up coming juniors."

Girls under 13: Neharika Balamurukan beat Ayli Nayeri (Iran)
            11-6, 11-7, 11-8
Boys under 13:Adhitya Raghavan beat Alireza Shameli (Iran)
            11-9, 11-6, 11-8
