And still the EICC Champions -
three for Camille, eight for Greg


It was another French double in Valenciennes today as top seeds Gregory Gaultier and Camille Serme retained their European Individual titles.

Serme claimed her third EICC title in a row with a straight-games win over second Line Hansen while Gaultier, who has all but made the event his own, won for an amazing eighth title, beating fellow Frenchman Mathieu Castagnet in four games.

Champions on course


Defending champions Gregory Gaultier and Camille Serme remain on course to retain their EICC title in Valenciennes.

Gaultier came from a game down to beat LJ Anjema, and now meets fellow Frenchman Mathieu Castagnet for the title, while Serme eased past Lucie Fialova to set up a final against Danish second seed Line Hansen.



05-Jun:

French advance on EICC Day Two

A few upsets on Day Two of the European Individual Closed Champs France, but defending champions Grégory Gaultier and Camille Serme are still on course to retain their titles.

In the morning rounds Geoffrey Demont beat former champion Olli Tuominen, then oin the quarter-finals Gregoire Marche beat second seed Simon Rosner in five to make it three Frenchmen in the semi-finals.

Marche now meets Mathieu Castagnet while Gaultier faces Dutchman LJ Anjema.

In the women's draw Switzerland's Gaby Huber denied the French another trio as she beat 3/4 seed Coline Aumard to set up a meeting with second seed Line Hansen, while Serme will be up against Czech 3/4 seed Lucia Fialova.

Day ONE
featured two rounds of play in the women's draw where the top eight seeds all made it through to the quarters, while one round whittled the men down to the last sixteen with just one minor seeding upset.
