01-Sep, Semis:
Max makes another final,
Donna v Line for women's cup ...
Hong
Kong's defending champion and top seed Max Lee will face
unseeded Egyptian Mazen Hesham in the final of the Crocodile
Challenge Cup after both came through tough semi-finals at the Hong
Kong Squash Centre.
Lee won in four close games against New Zealand third seed Campbell
Grayson, while Hesham, a member of Egypt's world junior
championship-winning team, overcame India's Harinder Pal Sandhu,
coming from 2/1 down to reach his third PSA final - Max will be
playing his ninth.

The
top seed will also contest the women's final after Donna Urquhart,
a Hong Kong regular, ended home interest with a four-game win over
Liu Tsz-Ling.
In the final she'll meet third seeded Dane Line Hansen, who
put an end to the run of Scotland's Lisa Aitken. |

31-Aug, Quarters:
Max carries home hopes as
Lisa wins leftie battle with Joey
Hopes of home victories in the Crocodile Challenge Cup are still
alive, but Scotland's Lisa Aitken dealt those hopes a big
blow as she beat second seed Joey Chan in an all-left-hander battle
at Hong Kong Squash Centre.
Aitken's win, one of the best of her career, sets up a semi-final
with third seed Line Hansen who also beat a HK opponent in
qualifier Lee Ka Yi.
In the top half of the draw top seed Donna Urquhart meets the
last remaining home player Liu Tsz Ling, who needed five
games to get past Kiwi Kylie Lindsay, for a place in the final.
In the men's quarter-finals top seed and defending champion Max
Lee won the latest in a long series of matches against
compatriot Dick Lau, and now meets third seed Campbell Grayson
who dashed hopes of a guaranteed HK finalist as he beat Leo Au.
The other semi-final features two unseeded players after India's
Harinder Pal Sandhu and Egypt's Mazen Hesham won their
last eight matches. |

30-Aug, Round One:
Good day for the Hosts in Hong Kong
Home players claimed six of the quarter-final spots as round one of
the Crocodile Challenge Cup concluded at the Hong Kong Squash
Centre.
In the women's draw all but one of the seeds progressed as local
qualifier Lee Ka-Yi upset eighth seed Sarah Cardwell to join
compatriots Joey Chan and Liu Tsz-Ling in the last
eight.

In the men's draw three Hong Kong players also made it through, with
top seed and defending champion Max Lee joined by Dick Lau
and Leo Au. All three are in the top half of the draw, where
Max and Dick meet yet again, so the odds of a home finalist are
high.
The biggest upset of the day came in the bottom half wher Malaysia's
Elvinn Keo took out second seed Jan Koukal in a tough
five-setter.
All three Indian qualifiers fell, leaving it to Harinder Pal
Sandhu to carry Indian hopes into the quarter-finals.
