Zaman claims CAS title

Farhan Zaman won the Chief of the Air Staff International
Squash Championship after defeating his strong rival Danish Atlas
in a thrilling final played at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex in
Peshawar on Saturday.
The Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Ather Hussain Bokhari,
was the chief guest on this occasion and witnessed the match. Former
world champion Qamar Zaman and a large number of spectators were
also present.
It was the second consecutive success of Farhan as he won the title
in the $10,000 PSA recognized Rangers International Squash Cup
held at Jahangir Khan Squash Complex in Karachi last week.
Farhan, who reached to his career high world ranking of world No. 86
in June 2013 and was No. 3 in junior squash, lost the first game
10-12 where Danish gave him tough resistance. After conceding the
first set, Farhan came back strongly to win the second, third and
fourth games 11-4, 11-6 and 11-7.

Double upset in Peshawar
Both of the top two seeds
were beaten in the semi-finals in Peshawar, as Farhan Zaman
and Danish Atlas Khan advances to the final of the PSA $15k
event.
Farhan overcame his former world junior teammate Nasir Iqbal, the
top seed, in five games, while Danish, also a member of the 2012
world junior team, beat his elder brother Aamir in four games to
reach the final.

Top seeds through to semis
Top seeds sailed into the
semi-finals of the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) International Squash
Championship being held at Hashim Khan Squash Complex in Peshawar.
Nasir Iqbal will be up against Farhan Zaman while the Atlas brothers
– Aamir and Danish – will lock horns in the other last-four clash.

25-Sep, Round One:
Seeds through to Quarters in Peshawar
Easy sailing for top seeded players on the opening day of the main
round of the Chief of Air Staff International Squash Championship
when top seeded Nasir Iqbal, Danish Atlas, Aamir Atlas, Manzoor
Zaman, Farhan Mehboob and Farhan Zaman registered victories
against their respective rival by reaching the quarter-finals here
at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Wednesday.

Qualifying complete in Peshawar
PESHAWAR, Sept 24 (APP): Former Asian Champion lefty Mansoor Zaman,
World Junior silver medalist Waqas, Ammad Farid, Nosherawan Khan
qualified of main round in the Chief of the Air Staff International
Squash Championship being played here at PAF Hashim Khan Squash
Complex on Tuesday.
In the first match Mansoor Zaman, son of former World
Champion, beat Asim Khan in a five sets battle, lasted for 49
minutes. Mansoor Zaman, born in April 14, 1980, has the honor of
winning Asian title, faced tough resistance against young Asim Khan
in the marathon five sets battle.

PESHAWAR, Sept 23 (APP): Top seed of
the main qualifying round Mansoor Zaman off a flying start after
registering opening day victory against Ismail Rauf in the straight
sets of the Chief of The Air Staff (CAS) International Squash
Championship being played here at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on
Monday.
Lefty Mansoor Zaman took no time in toppling his young rival Ismail
Rauf in the straight sets, the score was 11-5, 11-8 and 11-9 while
Asim Khan in the second match beat Salam Khan in straight sets, the
score was 11-3, 11-8 and 11-9 while Israr Ahmad got walk over
against against Aamir Malik of UAE, the later did not turn-up.
