Blake conquers Hemubo Trophy

Blake won the Hemubo Squash Trophy 2010 with a comprehensive win
over Lauren Siddall in Sunday’s climax of the WISPA Tour 4
championship in the Dutch city of Almere.
Blake, the 28-year old from Dublin, fought her way to the final with
victories over Milja Dorenbos (3-1), Laura Pomportes (3-0) and Orla
Noom (3-1), and seemed at ease from the start against the taller
English girl, who defeated Milou van der Heijden (3-0), Imelda
Salazar Martinez (3-0) and Annelize Naudé (3-1) en route to the
final.
 Blake dominated play and never relinquished control of the match,
forcing errors out of her opponent and hitting winners of her own.
The Irish ace won a well contested first and raced through the next
two games to claim her fourth WISPA title 11-9, 11-3, 11-7.
The Amsterdam based winner, who beat Siddall in the final of the
last WISPA tournament she won (Eurosafe Solutions Zwolle Open
2009), earned 210 ranking points with her victory and is likely to
improve on her career high position of 25 in next month’s WISPA
World Rankings.
